Found at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters this marvel of nature holds many a fauna and flora in its surrounding jungles as well as plateau, at the top of which the view of the horizon is mesmerizing and awe striking.
A healthy trek along the pathways up the hill can be a journey of discovery as you spot Samber Deer, endemic and migratory birds, waterfalls and endemic plants, and if you are lucky wild boar and giant squirrel to name a few of the animals found at the plains. The sheer drop at the edge is called The World's End which is a major tourist attraction. The average temperature is at 13 degrees Celsius and it is often cloudy, the best time to visit is during the dry period of January to March. Horton Plains is approximately 3 hour drive from Governor’s Mansion.
